Masks No Longer Required on School Buses
Dear Students, Families, and Staff Members,
On Friday evening, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued revised mask guidance which rescinds the previous federal order requiring that masks be worn by all passengers and personnel on school buses. Please see the announcement from the CDC below:
"Effective February 25, 2022, CDC is exercising its enforcement discretion to not require that people wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs."
Hence, effective immediately, masks will not be required for individuals (students and staff) traveling on school buses operated under the control of the Rocky Hill Board of Education. The "masks are optional" approach is now consistent with respect to the Board's school buildings and school buses.
Best wishes for a delightful Sunday afternoon.
Mark Zito, Superintendent of Schools
