Eileen is a veteran visual arts teacher with more than 18 years of experience in the secondary art classroom, and 12 years of experience as the K-12 Art Program Coordinator for the Rocky Hill public school system. Eileen has also worked as an adjunct Digital Arts Professor at Eastern Connecticut University, and works as a freelance designer. Spearheading the introduction of digital art into the high school curriculum, her expertise includes traditional and digital media instruction, cross curricular development and instruction, STEAM integration, assessment, and action research.

From 2008-2013 she served as Co-Task Leader of the Connecticut Digital Arts Assessment for the State Department of Education. Awarded CAEA’s Outstanding Secondary Level Art Educator of the Year in 2010, Eileen has conducted webinars for the State Digital Arts Task, and recently for the statewide NCAS standards roll out. Eileen has been a frequent workshop presenter at CAEA Fall Conferences over many years, and has also presented at the National level. She currently serves as the CAEA president elect and has been an active volunteer for the Scholastic Art Awards.

She earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Computer Art from SVA, a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Paier College of Art, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph College, she has also studied at Yale, the Art Students League, and SACI in Florence, Italy. She is currently completing her 6th Year at Sacred Heart University.

Prior to entering the education field, Eileen worked as a nurse at Hartford Hospital from 1986 -2000. From 2000 – 2002, she worked for a multimedia firm in NY. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries in Italy, New York and CT.
